The small town of Bosa originates from a medieval village built on the estuary of the Temo, the only navigable river of Sardinia. The castle and village, characterizing the attractive old town, also dominate the hamlet of Bosa Marina, which developed more recently around the beaches and the tourist port. Equally characteristic are the surroundings of the city, situated on one of the most beautiful and variegated coastlines of Sardinia, alternating rocks and small fine-sand coves. Seabeds rich in coral banks and particularly suitable for diving, uncontaminated landscapes, sanctuaries and archaeological ruins dating back to the Neolithic period offer infinite possibilities of leisure, as well as relaxing moments all year long. Bosa moreover offers residents and tourists festivals, celebrations, plays and fairs. Absolutely not to be missed are the famous bosan carnival, local craft with its finely worked filets and cut corals, the ancient gourmet tradition, all of this surrounded by the picturesque architectures, the typical tanneries and the attractive medieval district.
